For the record, brilliance often finds resistance on its way to public acceptance. In this case, part of that resistance was due to the force of friction between a pair of shorts and a pair of pants that both fit equally well. But had I been able to adorn them without first disrobing I would have been able to eliminate them as well-fitting. It’s an uneven optimization, but I still hold that it would improve efficiency in the long-term. That is, over thousands of potential swimming trunks.

This has been a fantastic summer for movies. Danielle introduced me to a semi-local drive-in which alleviated fears that we might miss certain theatrical releases on account of babysitter fatigue. I cannot recommend Wanted enough, I feel it is an excellent blend of comedy, action, and story-telling reminiscent of the golden age of James Cameron. Aptly-named Kung Fu Panda delivered handily on its premise, and The Incredible Hulk was worthy of its prefix.

Hellboy II, however, does some serious notch up-kicking. Spectacular visuals, I’m told from that guy who did that pan movie that had nothing to do with Tinker-Bell nor Teflon, that’s a notch. Lovable superheroes that seem more human than most of the cast of James Bond, that’s another notch. Conflicted villains who are tempting to sympathize with even as they try to destroy the universe, that’s notch-deserving.

Just under five thousand magically-powered mecha bashing it out mosh-pit style? There are an insufficient number of notches remaining.

See it. It’s good.

Ja.
