For the record, sailing was indeed canceled. It was thankfully not uncancelled. One does not fight the weather with but a single automobile.

I don’t think I have much to add on the general discussion of the new Batman film. I enjoyed it on many levels. Upon reflection, not quite so much as begins but that’s more my personal preference, which is a double entendre for my opinion as well as my preference for more personal stories. I always find it fantastic when an action movie conatins a thoughtful story amidst all the explosions and kung-fu fighting, but the one nestled into this movie focused more on ideals than the personal battles being waged between the characters. With such excellently portrayed and designed characters, I found the lack of real resolution between them kind of hollow. Maybe that was the point.

One thing’s for sure, I haven’t been so frightened of a fictional character since Flight of the Navigator. Being simultaneously hilarious and horrifying seems like it’d be difficult to do. I’ll be honest, I never thought Heath Ledger could act until I saw his final performance.
