Pickle Zombie

For the record, I do occasionally abuse my privileges as super-administrator to mollify the dull ache that forms behind my right eye when evaluating the grammatical and syntactical structure of Forrest’s posts. My literary intervention is not usually quite so preemptive as this, though.

I was originally planning a segue into a harsh criticism of a government that allows a municipal budget to fall so far out of balance that tall, brave members of the local fire brigade felt it necessary to stand outside a local coffee shop taking donations to supplement their finances. I was halfway through whipping myself up into a decent froth when I did something out of character and opened up the local newspaper. Turns out it is an ongoing charity drive for the beleaguered people of Haiti.

I produce all of my written work on digital medium, so I lack the grim satisfaction of crumpling up about three hundred words and tossing them in the general direction of the nearest waste receptacle. So I will content myself to imagining the sound of a toilet flushing to the single press of a delete key.
