For the record, Comic Book Commando has served us well for a significant portion of the last decade. I’ve owned what, a half-dozen computers in that time, and every one of them has this font buried somewhere deep within as a matter of course. Thing is, we never really liked it. We would regularly complain that it didn’t emphasize well, that is was kind of angled and undetailed at higher resolutions, and that it’s tapered edges always damaged it’s readability at smaller sizes. The only reason it endured for so many years was because it was free of charge, and most of it’s priceless bretheren were worse.
Turns out, though, the moment you are willing to throw even a pitance at your dialog bubbles, whole worlds of crisp, good-looking, and function typefaces can be discovered. Pickign one is a matter of choosing a price bracket and then hemming and hawing over a couple that you like before deciding to hit the bargain bin for something to just try on. That clearance shoe is what the today’s comic is wearing, it looked so good we just walked out with it.
What I haven’t yet mentioned is tthat the catalystt for this search was our discovery the other day that the Commando is no authorized for printing. And if you listen to Forrest, a risky undertaking to be sure, that’s something we’re going to want to do eventually.
Ja.
