So I tried using a brush pen to ink this comic, to say the least I went back over parts of it digitally. I really like how the last panel turned out. It’s as though Lennon’s speech bubble is actually hitting DT in the head. I like how the ink turned out on DT’s glasses in the final panel, I definitely will be practicing with a brush pen more often.
For the record, it’s been a while. So long I had to reset my back-end password which meant fixing the e-mail service which meant finding my goddamn back-end password. Normally I say, “I’m in,” on a successful login for dramatic effect. This time it was astonishment.
Forrest just bought a buncha streaming gear because people like watching other people draw. Now, that might sound condescending in the toneless silence of text, but I like watching people draw, too. Not sure what the details are, but he’ll post ‘em to the right when he’s got them sorted out, methinks.
Pretty sure no one wants to watch me write. Good thing, too. Because I would hate that. Part of the advantage to my job is that with a modern word processor I can basically slam down all the shit that comes to mind and instantaneously erase the existence of most of it. If you’ve read any moderate cross section of our archived comics, you’ll notice the ones where DT goes on huge rants that commandeer whole panels with type. Understand that those are artifacts chiseled down from blocks of text too voluminous to maintain the pressure seal at the top of this web page.
So a lot of the time you’d be watching a cursor blink in the middle of a sentence that’s then eradicated before you have a chance to read it, while my dumb mug sips a ginger ale in a picture-in-picture frame in the corner. There is no way to make a highlights reel of that. There are no highlights.
Ja.
